EXPO SHOW
REMINDERS
BREEDING HEIFERS:
Must be born from 9-1-08 to 12-31-09. All breeding heifers must
be registered with their respective breed association and conform to
their Iowa Breed Association rules for registration and exhibition.
Commercial heifers will be shown by weight. All heifers must be
owned by the exhibitor. Heifers may only be shown in a breed show or
as a commercial.
MARKET ANIMALS:
Must be born in 2009. Steers must be entered in the breed class of
which they show a predominance of such breed characteristics. Please
refer to classification of breed rules to enter steers in their
correct breed. Steers will be classified by breed with uniform class
breaks by weight. No reweighs. Steers that do not meet breed class
guidelines will be put in the crossbred class. Crossbred Steers and
Market heifers will be shown by weight.
GENERAL:
EXHIBITORS MUST BE PRESENT TO SHOW THEIR OWN CALF. ABSOLUTELY NO
SUBSTITUTE SHOWMEN WILL BE ALLOWED. NO CATTLE WILL BE SHOWN BY
ANYONE EXCEPT BY THE PERSON’S WHOSE NAME THE CALF IS ENTERED IN. THE
ONLY EXCEPTION IS IF AN EXHIBITOR HAS TWO ANIMALS IN ONE CLASS.
All Iowa resident exhibitors must be a paid member of the Iowa Jr.
Beef Breeds Association. BREED CLASS EXHIBITORS MUST ALSO BELONG TO
THEIR RESPECTIVE IOWA JR. BREED ASSOCIATION IN WHICH THEY ARE
EXHIBITING. All steers and heifers that require registration papers
MUST have papers in hand at time of check-in. NO FAX COPIES or
applications or registrations will be accepted! NO EXCEPTIONS! All
registration papers must meet the requirements of their state breed
association for junior exhibition.
Use of hemp hair, removed hair, or other hair-like
materials added t the animal’s body will not be allowed. I.J.B.B. A.
does not allow surgical or any other alterations to the animals such
as the use of permanent dyes or paints to alter the animals original
color pattern.
PROTESTS:
Site-specific protests must be filed at the IJBBA Sanctioned Show.
Any person wishing to have an animal inspected is required to submit
a written protest and be accompanied by $100.00. The person placing
the protest is responsible for all costs incurred to verify the
protest. Written protest must state plainly the cause of the
complaint and must be filed before the championship drive at the
sanctioned show. If inspection is not sustained, the protest money
will be forfeited. Protests will be handled by the breed association
involved, crossbred protests will be handled by the Executive
Director and the IJBBA Advisors
CHAMPIONSHIP DRIVE
All Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Breed or Division Steers,
Market Heifers and Breeding Heifers must stay and participate in the
Top 5 Supreme Championship Selection on Sunday afternoon in order to
receive points or premiums. |

Steer & Heifer Entries
Pre-Entries must be postmarked
by June 1st.
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED
Any juniors wishing to exhibit steers and heifers at the 2010 Summer
Beef Expo should notice the June 1 pre-entry deadline. Before June
1st the fee is $35 after June 1st $45. Please send entries to:

Junior Cattle Check-in
Friday, June 18th 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
All junior cattle, purebred and crossbreds wanting to exhibit in the
IJBBA Summer Field Day on June 19 will need to check-in on Friday,
June 18 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Purebred steers and heifers
must bring their registration papers as well as health certificates
with them at time of check-in. If you plan to exhibit in the IJBBA
Summer Extravaganza on June 20, this will serve as your check-in for
that show as well.
All junior cattle, purebred and crossbreds wanting to exhibit ONLY
in the IJBBA Summer Extravaganza on June 20 will need to check-in on
Sunday, June 20 between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Purebred steers and
heifers must bring their registration papers as well as health
certificates
with them at time of check-in.
